Like so many of his Greyston co-workers, Abdul arrived at the Bakery by word of mouth. When Abdul, who had been a mechanic in Bangladesh, emigrated in early 2001, he already knew two friends at Greyston and looked no farther.
After two years in Brownies, he was promoted to Floor Leader in Cakes & Tarts; when that unit was phased out, he transferred to Shipping & Receiving. Married and the father of three, ages 3 to 16, Abdul, 46, is pleased to be part of a team that values reliability and responsibility as much as he does. "I like to work," he says, and it shows. |
