We don't

Dieulane

At the age of 11, Dieulane immigrated to New York from Haiti to be with her father. At 14, she ventured out on her own and found herself living in a shelter. There, Dieulane got pregnant and was forced to drop out of school.

Looking to make a change in her life, Dieulane , then 19, found Greyston Bakery and applied for a job. She didn't have a phone so she came to Greyston every day to see if there was a position available. Determination paid off, and Dieulane landed a job making brownies.

That was eight years ago. Today, Dieulane who has continued her education and will soon receive her associate's degree, works in the accounting department.

The mother of two young children, her hobbies include dancing, singing, hairstyling and sewing.
